About This Project

Hey everyone it's time for the 2nd Annual Hike for the kids of LTCEA. Come join us on May 6th for the second of what we hope will be a long running tradition of adventures aimed at having fun and helping others. This hike is a small example of what we hope to do all over the world and we would love for you, our friends and followers, to be a part of this exciting event. We are leading a group hike along the Barton Creek Greenbelt from the entrance near Twin Falls all the way to Tacodeli on Spyglass Drive. This is one of the best hikes in Central Texas and since most of the trail is shaded you won't have to fear the central Texas sun. The hike is just over 4 miles and will take approximately 2 1/2 hours including plenty of time for breaks. It will conveniently end at Tacodeli where we will spend the remaining time eating, socializing and taking photos. We are asking for a minimum $20 donation from all hikers which will include lunch and there will also be a donation box set up to collect school supplies. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the children of Learning and Tutoring Center of East Austin (LTCEA).

Why This Project

LTCEA is a small non-profit organized for the purpose of providing tutorial services to help children in academic subjects such as reading and mathematics. LTCEA is currently short on funds and in need of many things to help with day-to-day operations. They'll begin their summer program in July and our goal is to provide them with tons of school supplies and teaching aids, breakfast for the children, work books and much more. On top of all of the education materials, last year we managed to get them a money-saving water cooler and even a computer! Hopefully this year will go just as well. We're very excited about this event and look forward to seeing all of you there. Come walk, talk, eat, make new friends, and learn more about LTCEA and Goodwill Globetrotting's efforts to change the world using people like you. Bring your dog, bring a friend, and most of all bring your GOODWILL!!!
